Myla J. Oldenburg

Myla J. Oldenburg, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Ridgecrest in Davenport. Funeral services will be at 11:30 A. M on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at The Runge Mortuary with visitation one hour prior to service.

Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Myla was born June 2, 1923 in Galesburg, IL; the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Gymon) Gilliland. She was united in marriage to Gene Jager on March 17, 1946 in Davenport; he preceded her in death in 1958. She then married Allan F. Oldenburg on July 8, 1959; he preceded her in death in 1990.

She had worked for Heeters for 19 years and then at Wilson Jewelers for 15 years prior to her retirement. Her memberships included: Plus 60 Club, Genesis West Auxiliary, life member of the Mohassan Caldron; WIBC Caldron Bowling League for 50 Years, Women of the Moose and St. John United Methodist Church. She was an avid card player, golfer and bowler.

Those left to honor her memory include cousins Ardith Wittmeyer and Hollie Matthys( her caregiver) and several nieces, nephews. Her parents, brother, Charles, and sisters, Gearldine Wilkins and Norma Gunthrop preceded her in death.
