Michael Patrick McCourt

Michael “Mike” P. McCourt, 62, of Walcott, formerly of AuGres, MI, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at his home. Per his wishes cremation will take place. Michael was born on April 3, 1961 in AuGres, MI to Dale and Joni (Welsh) McCourt. Mike joined the Ironworkers Union, retiring from Kiewit Construction; he had a wonderful working relationship with his crew and will be missed. Mike married Melissa Truby on April 5, 2000 in Toledo, OH.

Mike was a member of local 444. He was a 4 time World Column Climbing Champion, a skill he crafted for the 30 years as an ironworker. He was a talented woodworker, creating several special household furnishing pieces for his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Melissa; children Savannah Morris and Austin Hartenhoff; granddaughter, Dawson Morris; siblings Rebecca McCourt, Kelly McCourt, Jessica Ruse, and Shawn McCourt.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and loving dogs, Tessa and Kipling.
