Mary was born on June 28, 1942, in Davenport, Iowa, to George and Hildred (Sumpter) Nissen. She graduated from Central Highschool and went on to work for Quad City Dye Casting, Mast Development, Red Jacket and Marley Pump for many years until her retirement.
Mary enjoyed animals, especially her pet cat Cassie. She also enjoyed camping at the river. She enjoyed thrifting and could never pass up a good deal. She always made sure those around her were taken care of even before herself.
She is survived by her son Richard, daughter Shelly, significant other Joe, brother Andy (Mary Jo), sister Betty, and cat Cassie.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
