Mary Diane Mathias

Mary D. Mathias, 76 of Davenport passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 in the comfort of her home. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo, IA. Memorials may be made to the National Organization for Rare Disorders. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Mary was born December 30, 1940 in Rock Island, IL daughter of Arthur J. and Zella (Eudy) Frisch. She married David A. Mathias. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2009. She worked as a CNA for many years at St Luke’s Hospital, Davenport and Verdugo Hills Hospital, CA. Recently she worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed vacationing with them in California, going to Disneyland and SeaWorld. Those left to honor her memory include her children: Kathy (Frank) Burnett, Tujunga, CA, Karen Linn, Columbus, GA, Juel (Rose) Anderson, Davenport and Sharon (Ray) Ponce, Davenport; grandchildren: Theresa Anderson, Michael Anderson, Robert Burnett, Teresa Burnett, Jennifer Lee, Ann Swentowsky, William Swentowsky and Ashley Fry and step-grandchild, Crystal Ponce. In addition to her parents and husband Mary was preceded in death by her grandchild, Cody Fry.
