Mary Esther Peterson-Shimkus-Benson-Faulkner, 81, of Davenport, Iowa was called home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2024.
A graveside service will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 at 1 pm at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Folks that would like to join the procession and attend services are asked to gather at the Runge Mortuary at 12:30 pm.
Mary is survived by sons, Mark Shimkus of Davenport, Iowa and Randy Shimkus of San Diego, California. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leola Genevieve Bennell-Peterson; father, Rev. Hilding Gustav Peterson; brothers, Rev. David Peterson, Hilding Elmer Peterson, James Peterson and her sister, Shirley Peterson-Brown-Decker.
