Marvin Anderson Keiser, 90, of Bettendorf, Iowa died peacefully at Genesis Clarissa Cook Hospice on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Marvin was born in Bettendorf, IA on March 20th, 1932, Palm Sunday to Elmer Joseph and Ruth Mabel Keiser. Marvin graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1950 and then attended The Milwaukee School of Engineering after earning a full ride scholarship. After graduation Marvin served his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force. In 1958, Marvin went to work as an electrical engineer for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, IA and then Richardson, TX. Marvin then moved to Fullerton, CA and worked for Hughes Aircraft designing radar systems that were used in the U.S and around the world. Marvin retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1992 and returned home to be with his family in Iowa.
Marvin is survived by his twin sister Mardel Simpson, Tipton, IA. Marvin was proceeded in death by his father Elmer Keiser, mother Ruth Keiser, brother Kenneth Keiser, sister Arlene Smith, brother-in-law’s Jack Simpson and Gene Smith, sister-in-law LaRue Keiser and, niece Barbara Hooke.
Marvin is survived by 10 nieces and nephews: Cheryl Sickler, Bettendorf, IA; Joyce Prohl, Bettendorf, IA; Karen Lafrenz, Tipton; IA; Joleen Kragt, Ritzville, WA; Kim Bossart, Centennial, CO; Keith Keiser Davenport, IA; David Simpson, Naperville, IL; Randy Smith, Bettendorf, IA; Daniel Simpson, New Braunfels, TX and Ken Keiser Jr., Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by numerous great nephews and nieces, and even more great- great nephews and nieces!
Marvin did not have children of his own but he was a person of deep relationships. He was incredibly giving to his family in both time and need. He loved his meals at The Family Restaurant and The Village Inn. He was a great problem solver and could fix almost anything. He loved and cherished his neighbors. He always had a kind word for everyone and there was usually a joke as well. We will all miss him deeply.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with services immediately following at Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport, IA. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com
