She was born on March 22, 1927 in Davenport, the daughter of John and Rena (Stinger) Coffman. She was one of fifteen children. She attended Davenport High School but left during WWII to get a job and help raise her younger siblings. She married the love of her life, Albert (Gus) Millage on January 17, 1948. Thereafter, Tootie and Gus took off on a full and adventurous life involving family and friends. Gus was one of ten children so the extended family was huge by any measure. They lived in Portland, OR for two years in the early fifties but lived in Davenport and Bettendorf most of their lives. Tootie was a stay-at-home mom for the most part but did work part-time at the Lourdes school cafeteria for over twenty years while Gus was a successful self-employed printer. They raised three sons and one daughter. The family was very sports oriented and Tootie spent much of her time watching Gus and the children in sports, particularly baseball. She was a pretty good athlete in her own right, being a championship bowler and a sought after member of tournament teams. Tootie and Gus went on a number of trips with family and friends but her family was the focus of her life. With such a large extended family, every weekend saw friends and relatives visiting. She had a tremendous capacity for love for all of her family. She was also very religious and was a member of the Methodist faith having been a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Bettendorf since 1962. Gus died on July 10, 1995 but life went on for Tootie. She continued to travel, visit friends and family and spending time reading, collecting, watching classic movies and enjoying slot machines and bingo. She was a wonderful, generous and kind daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Virgil, Katherine, Romilda, Rondal, Marvin, Loren, Raymond, Gary, Allyn (Buddy), Sandra, Norma and Myrna.
She is survived by her sons: Russell Millage, Coralville, IA; David (Sandee) Millage and Bruce Millage, of Bettendorf; daughter, Brenda (Ken) Feddersen, Bettendorf; grandchildren: Jason (Maria) Millage, Coralville, IA; Jill (Kevin) Lueders, Suffolk, Virginia and Erica (Ron) Baraks, Hampton,IL; five great grandchildren and brothers, Daryl (Inge) Coffman and Mike (Shirley) Coffman; sisters-in-law: Beulah Lewandowski, Joan Millage and Glorena Coffman and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend, Vi Miller, very special sister-in-law, Patricia Craig and her sister-in-law and best friend, Lois Coffman. The family wishes to thank the staff at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Tootie.
