Mark Owen Austin

Mark Owen Austin, 48, of Tipton, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be Friday, October 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 pm at the mortuary. He was born July 3, 1966 in Davenport; the son of Roy and Cheryl (Foster) Austin. He served in the U.S. Army.

Mark was united in marriage to Peggy Brown on June 12, 1986 in Muscatine, IA. He was employed at Ruzicka’s Meat Market part-time and was a stay-at-home dad. He was a proud Native American and enjoyed Martial Arts, nature, the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Peggy; sons and daughters: Jacob, Davenport; Nicholas (Samantha) Austin, Wilton, IA; Ryan, Tipton, IA and Randi, Tipton, IA; grandchildren: Kameron, Khloe, Kenzie and two more on the way, Holley and Romeo; his mother, Cheryl Austin, Wilton, IA; brothers, Tom (Denise) Austin; Randy (Cindy) Austin, both of Wilton and a sister, Connie Harder, Muscatine. His father, Roy Austin preceded him in death.
