Visitation for Marian will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 27 from 9 am until 10 am. Her service will follow at 10 am. Her final resting place will be next to her beloved husband in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may go to LCMS World Relief and World Missions.
Marian was born in Granton, WI on December 7, 1929. She was the loving daughter of Louis and Lydia (Sternitzky) Winter. She became a child of God in Holy Baptism on January 12, 1930. She married Clarence Pannier on May 7, 1949, in Granton, WI. Six children were born to this union. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2021.
Marian and Clarence farmed for nine years in Wisconsin until Clarence went into the ministry. They spent four years in Springfield, IL then lived in different locations in Iowa until his retirement. Besides being a loving homemaker, Marian served in her church as Sunday school teacher and organist for many years. She was also active in Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Lutheran Laymen’s League and other senior citizen’s groups in her church.
In earlier years, Marian enjoyed reading, crocheting and needlework.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her children: Gary Pannier, Pleasant Hill, IA, Dianne (Morgan) Marti, LeClaire, IA, Randy (Paula) Pannier, Appleton, WI, Steven (Cynthia) Pannier, Plymouth, MN, and Phillip (Jill) Pannier, Appleton, WI; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister: Joyce (Ron) Woodkey, Lake Tomahawk, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marian is preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl,Son Phillip(Jill)Pannier, brother, Edward Winter and sisters, Janet Landwehr and Evelyn Bores.
