Mack E. Duffey, 93, of Walcott, IA was born August 9, 1930, in Hannibal, MO, to George Everette Duffey and Helen Francis Duffey. He passed this life January 20, 2024, at his home in Walcott, Iowa, with his wife by his side. Mack married Joyce Ann Moore on May 18, 2001. He and Joyce made their home in Blue Grass Iowa, for 10 years and spent their latter years together in Walcott, IA. Mack loved people and was a true people person. He enjoyed his coffee and regular visits with his special friends at the Walcott McDonalds. He worked at John Deere more than 40 years, retiring from Deere at age 80. He had the true entrepreneurial spirit. In his latter years he could still tell you what was happening with the stock market and could give you the scoop on what the Federal Reserve was doing any day of the week. Mack came to faith in Christ and joined the Church of God, in Davenport, IA with Pastor Junior Thornburg! Mack and Joyce later joined the Living Word Ministry Church of God in Christ, where they have been faithful for over 20 years! At Living Word church Mack served as a Church Deacon, Church Trustee, Finance Committee Member and he was the leader of the Committee for evaluating request for loans from the church!
Mack was known and for his outstanding work ethic and his dedication to saving for the future and saving for a rainy day. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Living Word Ministry Church where where Mack attended, served and worshiped the Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Duffey, Walcott, IA, one Daughter, Gloria Jean Duffey, one Son, Brian Curtis Duffey, both of Des Moines, IA; 3 sisters; Patsy Pentino of Pennsylvania, Jewell Day of Gilbert, AZ, and Earlene Baumgarter (Jim), of Kirksville, MO.
Mack was preceded in death by his Father, George Everette Duffey, Mother Helen Francis Duffey and sister, Mary Montgomery of Kansas.
PallBearers: Zachary Meyers, Brandon Meyers, Ron Dirksen, Elder Dwayne Lee, Deacon Michael Wilson and Deacon George Conway. Honorary PallBearer: Son, Brian Curtis Duffey.
