A memorial is scheduled at 1:30pm on June 2nd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport with a reception to follow. Memorials in her honor may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org) or Good Samaritan Society (www.good-sam.com/foundation/contact-us).
Lois was born on February 22, 1958, in Iowa City, to Edward and Jeanette Beckmann. Lois attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Rock Island High School, and Black Hawk College.
In her youth, Lois loved to play the piano, was an exceptional student, and a gifted athlete. She loved playing basketball, volleyball, and tennis. She participated in Genesius Guild, loved the performing arts, was a member of the Rocky choir, and enjoyed contemporary as well as classical music. Lois loved to ballroom dance. She was a dutiful daughter, a selfless big sister, an attentive mother, and a loving grandmother. Despite courageously battling MS for her entire adult life, she maintained a remarkably optimistic attitude. Her unwavering faith in God’s plan provided Lois with a limitless source of hope and promise. She was a constant source of inspiration for others in her life.
Lois is survived by her mother, siblings Joyce (Paul), Marcia (Mike) and Paul (Diana), her daughter Lindsey (Skip), granddaughter Selene, step-grandchildren Anna, and Billy. Lois joins her dad at the feet of Christ Jesus and is finally free from the pain and worries of this world. We wish to join you in celebrating her life on June 2nd.
