

Lloyd Franklin Fox, 84 of Davenport, IA passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020. Lloyd was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy A. Fox (Petty). He is survived by a sister, Susan Wright and brother, Rick Fox and as well his three sons; Lloyd II, Ryan (wife, Madonna) and Bradley (wife, Patricia); seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Lloyd will be remembered as a loving father and husband. He was an accomplished aeronautical engineer who spent years working on Space exploration projects before finishing his career at John Deere Harvester. He graduated from the University of Illinois, followed by a Masters in Mathematics with the University of Tulsa. In college, he further developed his love of flying and obtained his Soaring (gliders) license. Lloyd was known for his love of music – playing the trumpet in the Fighting Illini Marching Band and throughout his life wherever he could. He was known as a devoted Christian who loved the Holy Scriptures, especially the books of Romans and Hebrews. He also loved gardening, cabinet making and most anything “well-engineered!”
The family will be holding a visitation at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, from 12noon-12:45 pm on Friday the 24th. A private family graveside service will follow.
Lloyd will be laid to rest at Edgington Cemetery, Edgington, IL. Flowers can be sent directly to the funeral home and memorials can be made out to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com
