Dr. Leticia Aurora Sosa, 89, of Miami, Florida passed away Monday, January 3, 2010 at Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Davenport, IA. Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Friday, January 7, 2011 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Memorials may be made Good Samaritan Nursing Center. Leticia was born to Ignacio and Sara (Zamora) Sosa July 1, 1921 in Cardenas, Cuba.
She received her doctorate degree in education in Havana, Cuba and was principal at La Progresivia School for many years. She was a member of First Hispanic Presbyterian Church in Miami, FL.
Those left to honor her memory include her nieces: Damaris Bolet, Haydee Alvarez, Raquel Harper, Sara Alvarez; and Adelaida “Ida” Brown; nephew, Ezequiel (Kelo) Alvarez; 12 great nieces and nephews and her special friend Celia Pujol.
She was preceded in death by sister Haydee Alvarez, nephew, Daniel Alvarez and great nephew, Peter Gonzales.
