Leonard Paul Gilbert Miller III, 32, of Davenport, transitioned peacefully from this earth on January 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service to honor his memory will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 12pm at Weerts Funeral Home; visitation will be before the service starting at 11am.
Leonard, aka “Len Len”, was born to Leonard Miller Jr. and Marchelle (Bateman) Miller on August 23, 1991, in Davenport, Iowa. He was known to family and close friends as a “big teddy bear.” He was often the comic relief in group settings, always filling the space with his lighthearted jokes and contagious energy. Leonard was a loving father to five children whom he adored affectionately, and proudly accepted the role as their best friend. Aside from his children, his greatest joy was spending time with family gathered for delicious food and fun times, filled with lots of laughs (usually provided by him). Leonard was a beloved son, a brother, a father, an uncle, and a friend to many. He will be eternally loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered by many, especially by those who considered him their “baby boy” and “baby brother”.
Those left to cherish his memory include his four sons, Brailen Miller, Ki’Mani Miller, Hekhi Williams, Leonard Miller; a daughter, Londyn Miller; his parents, Leonard and Marchelle (Bateman) Miller; his grandmother, Helen Miller; his three brothers, Brion Perkins, Wade Jones, MacKenzie Miller; two sisters, La’Sha Bateman, Desiree Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Leonard was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leonard Miller, Sr.; his grandfather, Lerone Bateman; his grandmother, Charlie Bateman; and his nephew Ravin Miller Jr.
