Larry Lee Klemme

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 9 am until 10 am. Masonic services will begin at 10 am with a service to follow in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Cremation rites will follow. His final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Knight’s Templar Eye Foundation or to the Snow Lodge #44.

Larry was born in Davenport on August 14, 1945. He was the son of Oscar and Margaret (Hellberg) Klemme. He graduated from North Scott High School. He was united in marriage to Katherine “Katie” Reed on June 1, 1991, in Pleasant Valley, IA.

He worked as a computer analyst for the Department of Defense, starting in 1983 until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge AF & AM Snow lodge #44 of LeClaire; served as Grandmaster of the York Rite and a Knight Companion. In earlier years, he served on the Board of Directors for the Illinois/Iowa Center for Independent Living. Larry was also involved with many area community activities.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Katherine; sons, Lonnie Klemme (Stacy Nystrom), Geneseo, IL and Benjamin (Tammy) Reed, Moline; grandchildren: Tiernan Reed, Aedan Reed, Samantha Sun and Ashley (Josh) Wagle; great grandchildren: Kaden and Rylee Wagle; siblings: Connie Youngers, DeWitt, stepbrother, Ralph Baker, Texarkana, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews

Along with his parents; brothers: Jim, Jerry and Jack Klemme; sister, Ruth Ocker and stepbrother, Kenneth Baker preceded him in death.
