Keith Osborn, 81, of Bettendorf died Tuesday September 20, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services for celebration of Keith’s life will take place 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. and conclude at time of services. Burial will take place following the service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Pleasant Valley Education Foundation that will be used for scholarships.
Keith was born in 1942 to Wayland and Inez Osborn. He was married to Patricia Graham on August 20, 1967 and they were happily married for 42 years. She passed away December 2011 and is greatly missed. Keith went to Simpson College for his undergraduate degree and University of Iowa for Masters in Education, becoming a highly respected educator in the Pleasant Valley School District, and a dedicated and influential principal at Riverdale and Pleasant View Elementary. Keith loved and adored all of his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
Keith had a huge passion for Iowa Hawkeye Football. He was a die-hard Hawkeye football fan and loved taking his son and daughter, Andy and Jennifer to the games. His love for the Hawkeyes will live on through his family’s continued support for the black and gold.
Survivors include his children Jennifer (Rick) Peace of Wicklow, Ireland, Andrew (Mary) Osborn of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Mitchell (wife - Sarah), Christian, Spencer, and Ali Peace, Connor, Tyler, and Kaitlyn Osborn; great granddaughter, Atty Mae; brother Wayne (Ruth) Osborn of Eugene, Oregon; sister, Mary Ellen Jernigan of Baltimore, Maryland.
Keith was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; his parents Wayland and Inez; sister Carol (Dwight) Irwin, and nephew Danny Irwin.
