She was born in Clinton IA on December 10, 1952. Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport IA on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm. Funeral immediately following at St Paul Lutheran Church. She will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Cemetery after military send off at the All-Vets Memorial on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at 10am. Kathie graduated from Fulton High School and attended Scott Community and Davenport Barber Styling colleges. Kathie found her dream job as a barber stylist for the last 45 years. She also owned her own salon for many of those years making connections and becoming a friend to all.
Kathie was an Army veteran and the first woman in the IA National Guard. She was a volunteer for many organizations including Genesis Hospice performing We Honor Veterans presentations to patients and 11th Hour Vigil volunteer so no one was alone. She was a volunteer at Madison Elementary School as a reading tutor, gave haircuts and laundry for those in need. She was most proud of receiving the “Hug” award from the Davenport Community Schools. She also was very active at her church St. Paul Lutheran.
She had a passion for gardening, golfing, reading, crafting, but most of all her grandkids, including those that she ‘adopted.’ No heart was bigger.
She was survived by her daughter, Jamie Moen and her husband, Paul; step-daughter, Trisha Natzke and her partner, Jesse; grandchildren, Jordan Natzke and his wife Avree, Chance Moen, Gabriel Moen, and Leo Voyna (adopted by love), plus, all of the other "grandkiddos" she collected along the way; brother and sisters, Brenda (Bob) Sykes of Sunrise Beach, TX, Sherrie Borgman of Fulton, IL, James Rumfelt Jr. of Fulton, IL, Debra (Jim) Morris of Fulton, IL, Emilie (Randy) Price of Clarksville, TN, and Beverly (Thomas) Dirkes of Mount Juliet, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Rumfelt, Emily Rumfelt, Tom Hougan as well as her grandparents.
