Kathleen Louise Conover, 67, of Bettendorf, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline. She fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, with a verve and sense of humor as only she could.
Kathy was born on November 10, 1948 to Marvin and Ann Gould. She graduated from United Township High School in 1966. She married Robert J. Conover, with whom she had two children, and later married David L. Bert. In addition to being an encouraging, devoted mother, she went on to pursue a successful career in real estate, working for Mel Foster Company in Bettendorf. She made many friends there, and especially loved that time of her life.
Survivors include Kathy’s daughter, Sara, of Davenport; son, Ryan, San Diego, CA; brother, Tom Gould, Monterey, CA; sister, Marlene Rogers, Indio, CA; nieces: Melissa Davis (Gould), Beaverton, OR and Amy Gould, Urbana, IL and a nephew, Daren Hanson, Tyler, TX.
At Kathy’s request, there will not be a visitation or burial. She simply asked for her ashes to be spread off the coast of Sanibel Island, Florida – a place at which she lived briefly, but loved deeply. In lieu of flowers and memorials, her family would request honoring Kathy’s spirit by offering encouragement for children close to you that show promise and passion toward art, music, or any other creative form of personal expression.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Hope Creek Care Center for their skilled care, as well as the staff at Hospice Compassus for making her final days comfortable and peaceful.
