Katherine E. Lupton

Katherine E. Lupton, 93, of Davenport, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 14, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4105 N. Division Street in Davenport. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Katherine was born November 17, 1922 in Rock Island County, IL, a daughter of William and Mary (Lenert) Killing. On December 17, 1944 she married Thomas Petersen. He preceded her in death. She later married Ortie Lupton on December 30, 1969. He also preceded her in death.

Her memberships included Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and Royal Neighbors of America. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and her friends at Friendly House.

Survivors include her children: William Petersen, Bob (Evelyn) Petersen, Richard (Lynn) Petersen, Jim (Verna) Petersen, Kathy Petersen and Helen Mead; 15 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; two sisters; a grandson, Jesse Mead; daughter, Mary Showers and a daughter-in-law, Donna Petersen.
