June Lucille Olds, 91, passed away on May 17, 2023 at Senior Star in Davenport, Iowa. A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at the time of service. June will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
June (Morrison) Olds was born on June 9, 1931 to parents Viola (Lehman) and Marvin Morrison in Atalissa, Iowa. In 1949, June graduated from West Liberty High School. On March 14, 1951, June married the love of her life, Bob Olds. They went on to have four children together and enjoyed each other’s company for a lifetime.
June was a homemaker and enjoyed all sorts of crafting. She was skilled in the art of ceramics and cross stitch. She loved to complete jigsaw puzzles and tend to her flower garden. June was a particularly wonderful cook, making the best fried chicken and meatloaf dinners.
Family was always at the forefront of June’s life. She had monthly lunches with her cousins and attended many family reunions. Any time spent with her grandkids and great-grandkids brought her so much joy. June’s bright smile and warm presence will be so dearly missed by her family and friends.
Those left to carry on June’s memory include her husband of 72 years, Bob Olds; children, Ricky, Diane, Michael (Betty), Peggy (fiancé Eddie); five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and siblings, Leota, and Raymond.
June was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sisters, Violet, Helen; sisters, Alice, Ruth, Elsie; brothers, Roy, Albert, Bill, Floyd, Harold, Amos, Lewis, and one dear grandchild, Brandon Enoch.
