Joseph Lamar Conner

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, at Westside Assembly of God Church, 3908 W. River Dr. Davenport, IA, followed by a repass. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in his honor to his family.

Joseph was born August 25, 1979 to Russell Lee Conner Sr. and Sandara (Wilcox) Conner at St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport, IA. He graduated from Davenport Central in 1997 and went on to Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. In 2000, he became part of the Mercy Seat Ministries with Evangelist Pat Schatzline. Joseph was also a worship leader for the youth group and church at Westside Assembly with Pastor Gene Brack and under Sr. Pastor Ray Corlew. He worked for many years at Arch in Springfield, MO and later worked for HDC in Davenport, IA.

Joseph was a man of God and faith. He loved people, to laugh, and life in general. He enjoyed listening to music and was musically gifted. He could play many instruments including the piano, trumpet, saxophone, and drums, and he also wrote songs. He cherished spending time with people and friends. He was great listener and gave the best hugs, so full of love. He would always offer a different perspective to a situation and was able to think things through. Joseph was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mother, Sandara Conner; siblings, Ileana Colvin, Rev. Russell Conner Jr., and Isaac Conner; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Conner Sr., and his oldest sister, Nina.
