Joneil F. Oberlander, 84, of Davenport, passed away on April 16, 2024 at Davenport Lutheran Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society and The Salvation Army.
Joneil was born on July 14, 1939 in Houston County, MN to Neil and Agnes Jore. She was united in marriage to Marvin Oberlander on August 15, 1959 in Hopkins, MN. Joneil enjoyed spending time with family, jazz music, sewing and traveling, often known for saying “I need to see the Quads in my rearview”. After retirement, she kept herself busy by volunteering and helping friends with errands while she could still drive. Joneil was a strong willed and adventurous woman, as evidenced by going skydiving for her 70th birthday. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her children, James Oberlander, Teresa (Keith) Ford, Daniel (Veronica) Oberlander, and Joe (Katy) Oberlander; grandchildren, James Jr. (Kristen), Jean (Andrea), Jacob (Athina), David, Sandy (Dan), Jessica, Cody (Jordan), Cortney (Cody), Andrew (Sally), Mackenzie (Carter) and Gibson; great-grandchildren, Sloane, Emmy, Cayden, Cylus, Naomi, Madilynn, Gracie, Gabbie, Bailey, Riley, Georgia, Lucy, Corbin, Jacen, Teagan, Rayne, Cyril, Renae and Ellis; and her sisters, Mary Mortenson, Karen McGraw, Audrey Bates, and Ruth Lyons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, parents and siblings, Rosie Grimm, John Jore, and Donna Anderson.
