After serving in the United States Army for six years, he spent thirty-seven years with the Aluminum Company of America, Davenport Works, retiring in 1990. John enjoyed sports and attended Hawkeye games for many years. Following his father’s example, he was a Chicago White Sox fan and telling that the only thing he liked more than a White Sox win was a Chicago Cubs loss.

Allen (Deborah) and Michael (Dr. Rebecca); five grandchildren: Noah (Katie Knorovsky) Wiese, Bethany Wiese, Peter Wiese, Sarah (Doug) Vaughan, and Melissa (Alex) Holter; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law June Wiese and in Japan, there remains a large family connection and friends of many long years.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Ridgecrest Village and Beacon of Hope for all of their love and support over the years.
