John H. Lueders

John H. Lueders, 92, of Davenport passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Davenport. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 29 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to Scott County Humane Society. John was born March 8, 1922 in Davenport, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Barbara Mills. He later married Patricia Walters Jehle on July 31, 1976 in Davenport, Iowa.

He was an electrical engineer at Alcoa for 40 years, retiring in 1990.

He was a member of Bettendorf VFW, volunteer fireman for Riverdale Fire Department and council member for Riverdale.

John enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; children and spouses: Susan (John) Nienaber, Terry (Sue) Lueders, Sandra Lueders, Michael Jehle, Gary Jehle; grandchildren, John (Sherry) Lueders, Scott Lueders, Kate Lueders, Amy Nienaber, Tricia (Trevor) O’Leary, and David Jehle; 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Helen Smith and Margaret Stohlmeier.
