John S. Albee

John G.S. Albee, 69, of Bettendorf passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at The Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Tuesday October 24, 2017 from 4-7pm at The Runge Mortuary and on Wednesday from 10:00am until the service, at the church. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to be given to several charities.www.rungemortuary.com. John was born September 23, 1948 in Minneapolis, MN; the son of Richard and Katherine (Boyle) Albee. He was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Ruefer on August 31, 1991 in Davenport. He ended his career with the Davenport School System after teaching for 28 years, in 2003. John was a didactic learner who enjoyed music and singing. He became a “Hawkeye” fan after meeting his wife, Jackie and he adored his dogs. He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie of 26 years; his children: Sheila Rohe; Keavy Kinna and Richard (Kelley) Albee his loving grandchildren: Olivia, Gavin, Caitriona, Maille and Christopher , and his brother Robert (Simone) Albee , all of Maryland. His parents and a sister, Mary preceded him in death.
