Joe F Cassatt “Tootie”, 88 of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at his home. Services to honor his memory will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 12pm at Weerts Funeral Home; visitation will be before the service beginning at 10am. Memorials in Joe’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Joe was born on October 20, 1934 to Joe T and Margaret Cassatt in Milton, Iowa. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1954. Joe was united in marriage to Marilyn Jipp on November 4, 1978; she passed away in October 2022. Joe worked many jobs throughout his life, but he was most known for his photography work. He loved to go hunting and fishing with his buddies and his family. Joe loved to “help” out on the farm. One of Joe's passions was taking meticulous care of his cars. He was a real family man and he always put them first, as family members got older he was there to care for them. Joe loved to spend time with his kids and his grandkids were the light of his life.
Those left to honor his life are his children Cheri Mathis, Wendi (Steve) Flood, Joe (Tanji) Cassatt, Jr., Shawn (Kara) Cassatt, Shelly (Matt) Heisler; honorary daughter Mickey Arnold; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Robert “Bobby” (Sheila) Cassatt; and sister Lana (Denny) Koch.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, daughter Jodi Numann, brother Donald, and his parents.
