Joan E. Larsen

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. A private family burial will be held to lay her to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Joan was born December 29, 1938 to Andrew and Hildred (Forbes) Rich in Davenport, IA. On July 28, 1962 she was united in marriage to James J. Larsen. She worked for Davenport Bank and Trust for many years, but after the birth of her children she decided to be a stay at home mom. She enjoyed time with her niece, Brenda Monteguise, working at her restaurants.

Joan was a loving and caring woman. She was the “neighborhood mom” and had room for everyone. She enjoyed cooking and baking and giving away treats. Her grandchildren were her world. She also liked puzzles. Joan loved being with her family, including camping every weekend in the summer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Todd (Lori) Larsen, Bettendorf, IA; daughter, Vicki (Jason) Cupp, Iowa City, IA; grandchildren, Ben, Matthew, Andy, Abby, Jake, Emily, and Jenna; sister-in-laws, Iris Larsen and Dorothy Blumer; brother-in-law, Joe Larsen; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will miss her daily calls with Iris and their friendship.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 58 years, James; twin sister, Jacqueline Rich; and brother, Andrew, Jr.
