Funeral services will be held at 12:00 on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitations will be held one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Joan Huebner was born on August 27, 1929, the only child of Walter & Marie Huebner. She married Jack F. Holcomb in Clinton, IA on April 29, 1950. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Joan graduated from Clinton High School in 1947. She worked at the Clinton County Chapter of American Red Cross. Jack and Joan moved to Bettendorf in 1954. Joan worked as an Avon Representative for 25 years.
Joan bowled for over 30 years at Kimber Lanes in the Monday Night Owl League. She was a member of Plus 60, Bettendorf Life Fitness Center and longtime member at St. James Lutheran Church – singing in the choir.
For the last 5 years she resided at Senior Star Assisted Living Center in Davenport. There she enjoyed playing cards & bingo (especially when she won chocolate bars!).
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Vicki (Doug) O’Leary, Tierra Verde, FL, Dave (Annette Barry) Holcomb, Bayou Vista, TX, Jeff Holcomb, Hemet, CA, Randy (Amy), Holcomb, Germantown, WI, and Tammi (Chuck) Meyer, Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren: Nathan Meyer, Halli (Jonathan) Getting, Ben & Nick Holcomb; step-grandchildren, Haley Billiot and Ashlen O’Brien; great-grandchild, Gracelyn Getting; and step-great-grandchildren: Aaden, Asher and Adalyn Billiot, and Cotton O’Brien.
