Joan M. Harter, 64 of Davenport passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, December 25, 2023. Per her wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Joan was born on December 21, 1959 in Davenport to Harold and Goldie (Elleson) Kosbau. Joan owned and operated the Golden Comb Salon for 40 plus years. Joan loved all sports, from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Iowa Hawkeyes, Nascar, playing pool and watching game shows. She hosted all family events and gatherings. She was very proud and loved her son Matt very much. Joan loved her family and was the glue that kept them together.
Survivors include her son, Matthew Harter; family dog, Remington; siblings, Janet (Ricky) McIntyre, Becky (Tim) Clark and John (Tauna) Kosbau; several nieces, nephews, cousins; close friends, Patty C and Becky D along with a host of many other special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Gary Kosbau and sister, Debbie Melton.
