Jeanne A. Kohn, 77, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 2, also at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Jeanne was born October 16, 1943, to Raymond and Jeanette (Ziegler) Manthey in Dubuque, IA. She graduated from Xavier High School in Dyersville, where she was raised. She worked a few jobs off and on in Dyersville, at the Sears, taught crochet, and was an aide at Beckman Catholic High School. On July 14, 1962, Jeanne was united in marriage to Wilbur Kohn in Dyersville. In 2005, Jeanne and Wilbur relocated to Bettendorf to be closer with family. She became very active at St. John Vianney’s Catholic Church, where she started the prayer shawl group and took part in adult learning. In her free time, Jeanne enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and reading.
Jeanne is survived by her children: Richard (Patricia) Kohn, Patrick Kohn, and Chris (Meghan) Kohn; a brother, Ronald (Karen) Manthey; and a grandchild, Abigail Kohn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur; and her grandson, Will Kohn.
