Jean Potter

A Celebration of Life will be held between 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory, Davenport. Cremation rites have been accorded. She will be laid to rest at a later date in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Jean’s name. Jean was born on November 30, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, IA to Stanley and Ruth (Crane) Looker. She was united in marriage to her husband of 61 years, Robert Potter on August 12, 1962 in Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Jean was the media specialist at Wright Elementary in Cedar Rapids, IA before retiring in 1998. After retirement, Bob and her delivered flowers together. She was a long member of Newcomb Presbyterian Church in Davenport. She was a great coach’s wife for 38 years, and her family was her greatest joy.

Jean is survived by her husband, Bob Potter of Walcott IA; daughters, Nancy (Bob) Juarez and Karin (Jerry) McCray, of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Lindsey (Ben) Whitford, Andrew (Hannah) Juarez, and Josh (Kara) McCray; great-grandchildren, Liam Whitford and John McCray; sister-in-law, Joanne Looker; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Looker.
