Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at The Runge Mortuary. Jan was born on July 12, 1935 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Elmer H. and Lydia (Meye) Jager. Jan graduated from Central High School in 1953. She worked at Red Jacket and later for the Corps of Engineers. She moved to Texas where she worked for the IRS. Upon returning to the Quad Cites she worked on Arsenal Island with the Joint Munitions Command (JMC). After retirement she volunteered at Davenport Quad-City Convention Bureau. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, where she served on several committees. Jan arranged one day trips for members of the church for three years. Jan was a member of the 600 Club for bowling. She was also a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Alpha Zeta Chapter, for some years where she served as president. Jan was a gentle and loving person to everyone. She enjoyed movies, books, gardening and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was an avid Hawkeyes fan. Survivors include sisters Alice (Raymond) Danielsen, Davenport and Sandra (John) Hoelzen, Davenport; nieces and nephews; Russell (Barbara) Danielsen, Deborah (Roger) Schneider, Heather Hoelzen, Christine (David) Fowler, Paul (Gwen) Middeke, Matthew Jager, Jeffery (Kim) Jager, and Greg (Kelly) Jager, special niece Heike Neu; great nieces and nephews, Jason (Amanda) Middeke, Jeffrey Middeke, Jessica Middeke, Katie (Brad) Rose, Curt Danielsen, Scott (Misty) Schneider, Laura (Kevin) Benson, Kyle Jager, Brady Jager, Cory Jager, Chad Jager, Casie Jager, Amanda Fowler, and Evan Jager and Lydia Jager; great-great nieces and nephews, Charlet Middeke, and Adrian Middeke, Jeffrey Rose and Kari Rose, Reagan Schneider, Luke Schneider, and Benjamin Schneider. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold, and niece Donna.
