Jane was born December 29, 1928 to Henry and Rose (Schnabel) Sand in Mohall, ND. On September 8, 1956 she was united in marriage to Lawrence “Larry” Jaffe. Jane received her Pharmacy Degree from North Dakota State University, where she later taught pharmacy math as an associate professor. Jane worked as a pharmacist at Schlegels, Haag, and Peoples from 1956 to 1976. In 1977 she purchased the Apothecary Shop and ran it until retiring in 1990.
Jane was an active member of Newcomb Presbyterian Church where she assisted with Golden Agers, Kids Klub, and whatever else needed to be done. She was known as the “Scrubby Lady”.
She is survived by sons, David Jaffe, Eden Prairie, MN, and Michael Jaffe, Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Alex and Benjamin Jaffe, both of Minnesota; sister-in-law, Eleanor Sand, Bismarck, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
