Jan was born February 4, 1955; the son of Leslie Grant and Dorothy Jean (Ostrander) Hanneman. He was united in marriage to Patricia A. Cromer on July 1, 1999 in Davenport. He was certified in HVAC from the ESCO Institute but he had worked fifteen years as a maintenance supervisor at Jumer’s Lodge prior to retiring. He enjoyed boating and fishing, so much so that he went on a fishing trip to Canada in 2014 and caught his biggest fish ever. He loved watching Illini sports; the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. Jan was a very memorable man; once you met him you would never forget him. He never knew a stranger and was a social butterfly who loved talking to everyone on the beach. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Pat; daughter, Mary Beth Gambill, Nashville, TN; step-daughter, Julie (Will) Slaughter, Bettendorf; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; brothers: Rusty (Sonja) Hanneman, Moline and Milton Hanneman, Port Byron, IL; sisters: Paula (Ken) Thurman, Moline and Tammy (Gordon) Custard, Moline and special friends, Joe and Barb Kimpe. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Constantinou and staff of Trinity – UnityPoint for their wonderful care shown to Jan and his family.
