James C. Scott, 77, of Davenport, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Genesis East Medical Center. Private family visitation and service will be held at Weerts Funeral Home. James was born on November 6, 1945 in Rockford, IL to Robert and Thelma (Garman) Scott. He married Connie Heinrich on June 12, 1965. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2012. He married Patricia Coffman on August 21, 2013. James worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in the “JMC” Joint Munitions Command. He was inducted into the Ammunition Hall of Fame in 2019. James retired after 34 years of employment.
James was a member of the Corvette Club, a youth baseball and football coach, he enjoyed traveling, and was an avid bowler. In his free time, James enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Bears Football and Chicago Cubs Baseball teams. He also enjoyed archeology and history. James loved supporting his grandchildren in their various activities. He was a devoted family man; never forgetting a birthday.
James is survived by his loving wife Pat; children, Doug (Barb) Scott of Davenport, IA, Julie (Gary) Pfeiffer of Freeport, IL; daughter-in-law, Angie Scott of Paragould, AR; grandchildren, Nick, Breanna, James, Alexis, Matthew and Amber; great grandchild, Kaden; and three stepdaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Connie; son James Scott, and granddaughter, Abby Scott.
