James Otto Hansen

James “Jimbo” Otto Hansen, 66, of Davenport passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport following an extended illness. Following cremation, a private family service will be held at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan, IL. He was born October 3, 1947 in Davenport, a son of Otto J. and Helen (Flaskamp) Hansen. A graduate of Davenport Central High School, he had been employed at various times by Murray’s Super Valu, National Foods, Industrial Engineering and finally drove a Davenport city bus for several years, until he retired due to health problems. He was a former member of the Davenport Moose Lodge, where he had held several offices and the Bus Drivers Union.

Survivors include brothers: Raymond J. (Marjean) Hansen and Richard Lee Hansen and a sister Delores “Lorie” (Don) Ockelmann; nieces and nephews: Tim (Kathy) Hansen, Robin (Kip) Olsen, Lori Jo (Terry) Dreifurst, Kurt Ockelmann, Kristi Ockelmann, and Larae (Chris) Payne; and his very special cat and buddy “Louie”. He was preceded in death by his parents.
