Irene Schaeffer

Irene B. Schaeffer, 88, of Davenport passed away on February 1, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Irene was born in Muscatine, Iowa on September 15, 1933 to Robert and Mae (Shepard) Brugman. After high school, she married Robert A. Schaeffer. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1985.

Irene owned The Minds Eye Craft & Gift Shop and later Fairway Golf Gift Shop. Irene enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing cards and cuddling with her pets while reading.

Those left to honor her memory are her sons, Dan (Kay) Schaeffer of Davenport, Matt (Jean) Schaeffer of Davenport, and Dave (Wendy) Schaeffer of Middleburg, FL; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mae; her husband, Robert; and her brother Maynard.
