Harold L. Stratton

Harold L. Stratton, 92, of Davenport, died Thursday, January 3, 2013. Per his wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com

Harold was born July 22, 1920 in Iowa, the son of Fred E. and Elizabeth (Wymer) Stratton. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Wigant on June 14, 1946 in Davenport; she preceded him in death in 1989.

He served in the US Army during WWII. Harold retired from French & Hecht after thirty years of service. He belonged to the Hawkeye Swingin Wheels, a camping and square dancing club. He also enjoyed woodworking.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Candis Tompkins, Wagoner, OK; grandson, Dean Tompkins and granddaughter, Tina Roberson and their families, all of Oklahoma; sister, Betty Stinson, Muscatine, IA and his companion, Patricia Parriss and her family, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: James, Gerald “Boots”, Fred “Burk” and Raymond and sisters: Viola, Mildred, Frieda, Vera and Romell.
