Harold H. Holdorf

Harold H. Holdorf, 83, formerly of Maysville, IA passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Genesis East Medical Center Davenport. Funeral services will be 10:00AM Monday (2/22) at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday (2/21) 2:00PM to 6:00PM at the mortuary. Harold was born June 28, 1926 in Hickory Grove Township, Scott County, IA to Harry & Anna (Becker) Holdorf. He was united in marriage to Lois Buffum on February 22, 1947 in Davenport, IA. She preceded him in death on April 8, 2005.

Harold had served as a volunteer fireman with the Maysville Fire Department.

He had been employed as a rural milk delivery man through the Teamsters for 30 years retiring in 1987 from Swiss Valley Dairy. In retirement he loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors.

Survivors include son & daughters in law David (Linda) Holdorf, Donahue, IA, Dennis (Judi) Holdorf, Muscatine, IA, Susan Holdorf, Springfield, MO , Steve Holdorf, Platteville, WI, Tom (Sharon) Holdorf, Arvada, Co; daughter & son in law Luann (Herman) Ferreira, Muscatine, IA; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and his dog and best friend Curley.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, a son Duane, a daughter in law Colleen, & a grandson Nathan. The family would also like to thank the staff at Grand Haven in Eldridge for all the loving care they gave to Harold.
