Harold K. Dexter

Harold K. Dexter, 85, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Genesis East Medical Center. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4-6 pm at the Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Harold was born March 25, 1929 in Rock Island, IL; the son of Andrew and Rose (Wessel) Dexter. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline Miller; they married on July 4, 1953 in Davenport. He served during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from Alcoa where he worked as a maintenance crane operator. He was an avid Hawkeye fan, loved horses and enjoyed doing yard-work. Family was very important to him and he will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Jacqueline; sons: Donald (Mary Jane) Dexter, Shawnee, KS and Rick Dexter, Davenport; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and brothers: Harry (Bonita) Dexter, Gardner, KS and Frank “Bud” Dexter, Dixon, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Fred and Robert “Bob”.
