Hans William Walcher, 93, a lifelong resident of Davenport, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 in Davenport. Following cremation, private burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. He was born May 11, 1920 in Davenport, a son of Hans and Alma (Wille) Walcher. He married Beverly J. Kuelper in 1946 in Iowa City. She preceded him in death in 1994.
Mr. Walcher was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was employed by Walcher’s Bakery and Oscar Mayer prior to his retirement and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Denny Wold; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Jana Walcher; grandchildren, Jennifer Walcher, Carla Wold Janas and Catrina Wold; two great grandsons; and sister, Norma Biondo Woodward.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude and his brother, Albert.
