Services for Geraldine Eunice Gerdts, of Davenport will be at Ridgecrest Chapel, Davenport on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 10:30 am. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am Wednesday at Ridgecrest. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ridgecrest Village. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Mrs. Gerdts passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Genesis East in Davenport. She was born September 30, 1924 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Clarence and Eunice (Quinn) Skailand. On October 16, 1942 she married Robert Gerdts of Davenport at St. Mark Lutheran Church where they were members. She enjoyed almost 65 years of marriage with Robert; who passed away on March 13, 2007. She worked for Ralston Purina, MA Ford, and Crescent Macaroni, retiring from there in 1987. Her family would like to express its sincerest gratitude to the staff, nurses, aids, and employees of Ridgecrest Village for their kindness and support throughout the years. Those left to honor her memory include her sons and their wives Alan and Gloria Gerdts, Tucson, Arizona, Richard, Bettendorf, Donald and Robin Gerdts, Moline, Robert, Davenport and a daughter Carol and her husband Dennis Schmidt, Princeton, Iowa; ten grandchildren; Eric, Jeff, Wes, Tony, Dewayne Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt, Emily Cotton, Ellyn Gerdts, Jeri Kay Entwistle, and Dawn Lipe; 14 great-grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister Dorothy Timper, Davenport.
