Gary Joseph Peters, 55, of Davenport passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Online condolences can be made at www.rungemortuary.com.
He was born on December 30, 1960 in Davenport, IA the son of Dennis and Nancy (Wallace) Peters. He was a Navy veteran and worked as a prison guard for many years.
Gary loved sports, and the outdoors, especially scuba diving and traveling. He was known for his sense of humor, always telling jokes and laughing.
He is survived by his son, Garrett Peters; daughter, Maddie Peters; brother, Greg (Ginny) Peters; sister, Sherri (Bryan) Johnson and a longtime friend Liz Simons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Peters, Nancy and Donald Teel and niece, Anna Johnson.
