Gail J. Wood

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Gail was born to Jens, Jr. and Marilyn (Gravert) Nielsen on April 24, 1955, in Davenport, IA. On October 15, 1983, she was united in marriage to Randy D. Wood in Davenport. He passed away on December 23, 2019. She retired after many years of serving as an accountant at her family business, Five Cities Tool Service, T.W. Flash which she co-owned with her cousin. She also did accounting contract work for John Deere.

Gail loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dear friends, LaDonna, Deb, and Mar Mar, and “The Brew Crew”. She also enjoyed going camping and doing diamond dot art.

She is survived by her son, Andrew (Karalee) Wood; daughter, Holly (Andrew) Wood-Carpenter; grandchildren, Cole and Ellie Carpenter; son, Marcus “Pookie” Womack; brother, Sam (Robin) Nielsen; sisters-in-law, Deb (Norm) Dvorak and Janis (Tom) Gow; and brothers-in-law, Terry Wood (George Parze) and Ron (Jan) Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Randy; stepfather, Theodore Johnston; brother, Mike Nielsen; brother-in-law, Dennis Woody” Wood; and in-laws, Hap and Mary Wood.
