Frances “Fran” L. Simms, 82, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at her home. Services to honor her memory will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 12pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be before the service starting at 11am. Following services, Frances will be laid to rest next to her husband Don at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials in Frances’ name may be made to King’s Harvest Animal Rescue.
Frances was born on April 6, 1941 to Otho and Frances Seehorn in Rock Island, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Donald Simms on June 27, 1959; he passed away in 2008. Frances worked at Jewel Osco for many years before she retired in 1994. Fran was avid BINGO player and loved animals. She enjoyed buying, selling, and collecting antiques; Fran could often be found at various flea markets or auctions.
Those left to honor her memory are her son Donald Simms, Jr.; grandchildren Sara, Adam, and Rachel Schebler; great-grandchildren Zara, Alessandra, Victor, Dominic, and Genevieve; and her precious fur babies Sweet Pea, Salem, and Casper.
She is preceded in death by her husband Don Simms, her daughter Connie Schebler, her sister Jackie Rosenblum, and her parents.
