Esther E. Shaw

Esther E. Shaw, 95, of Bettendorf passed away at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf on February 21, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, February 24, 2011 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from Noon-1 pm Thursday at the mortuary. Esther was born November 18, 1915 in Sherrard, Illinois, the daughter of Otto and Clara Brasmer. She married Marvin Shaw on July 13, 1937 in Davenport. Esther and Marvin made their home in Bettendorf for the last fifty-six years. She enjoyed being a homemaker and doing stitchery, crocheting and working in her yard.

Survivors include her husband Marvin; daughters Kathleen (David) Herington of Bettendorf and Ruth Ann (Allen) Duncan of Lakeland, Tennessee; grandchildren: David Herington of Gays Mills, Wisconsin, Cynthia (Steve) Cripe of Bettendorf, Robert (Lynn) Herington of Davenport and Christine (Barry) Carnes of Arlington, Tennessee; great grandchildren: Keith (Sherrie) Cripe , Sean (Alissa) Cripe, Alex Cripe and Molly and Katie Rose Carnes.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, brother Elmer and sisters Florence, Elda, Dorothy, and Verna.
