Estelle L. Polchow, 94, of Davenport, IA passed away on June 30, 2023. Funeral services will be at Asbury United Methodist Church, Bettendorf, IA on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11am. A livestream can be accessed at JesusIsTheBridge.org by clicking the “Youtube LIVE” button. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church.
Estelle was born April 13, 1929 in Galva, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Elta Stewart. She married William Polchow on June 6, 1953 in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2008. Estelle retired from John Deere Industrial Equipment Co., Moline, Illinois in 1989. She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf since 1957, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Leader, and on various committees. She was also a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, member of the Bettendorf School Board, PTAs, AARP, and the Plus 60 Club. Estelle enjoyed her family, church, friends, sewing, crafts, music, shopping, and extensive traveling to all 50 states and all continents except Antarctica.
Survivors include her daughter Kathy (David) Newell of The Villages, Florida; son Kevin (Kara Callahan) of Vienna, Virginia; grandchildren Allison (Ryan) Eckhart of Bettendorf; Brian Newell (Caleb Erickson) of Chicago, Illinois; Sarah Polchow of Charlottesville, Virginia; Shannon Polchow and Sean Polchow of Vienna, Virginia; and great-grandsons, Patrick, Vincent, and Declan Eckhart of Bettendorf.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, her parents, and brother Charles Stewart.
Estelle’s family would like to thank the staff of the Assisted Living and Memory Care Units at Senior Star in Davenport for their loving care over the last eight years.
