Cremation will be done with a memorial service to be held 10:00am Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Condolences maybe shared at www.rungemortuary.com.
Ernie was born on August 27, 1941 in Jefferson City, MO. the son of John and Elsie (Milford) Davis. He was united in marriage to Sharon Countryman on September 6, 1960 in Clio, MI. She preceded him in death on July 16, 2022. Ernie served in the US Army and was a proud veteran. He had been employed at French & Hecht for 30 years retiring as a metallurgist. After retirement he held several other jobs over the years.
Sharon and Ernie enjoyed riding motorcycles together from the time they met, taking many cross country rides. They were proud members of the Patriot Guard where he served as Ride Captain.
Other activities that Ernie enjoyed were archery club, hunting, fishing tournaments and car racing. He loved spending time with his friends and family.
Those left to honor his memory are Brian, son, and his wife Deb of Flagstaff. Grandchildren Josh, Jenny, Amanda and Cherish. Great grandchildren Dominik, Tristan, Maddie and Logan.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a daughter Debbie Fiala.
