Erica A. DeCook

A funeral mass to celebrate the life of Erica A. DeCook, 69, of Davenport, IA, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. Erica passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.

Erica Ann Englemann was born on June 20, 1950, the daughter of Robert and Walda (Ruhde) Engelmann in Iowa City, IA. After graduating from Assumption High School in Davenport with the class of 1968 and attending Ottumwa Heights College in Ottumwa, Iowa, she married Joseph A. DeCook on October 4, 1969 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.

Erica worked for Eagles for over 26 years and then The Law Offices in Davenport prior to her retirement in 2014. She took great joy in demonstrating her love through her wonderful cooking and baking. She especially loved Thanksgiving and Christmas and creating traditions and memories for her children and grandchildren.

Erica is survived by - her Husband: Joe; 5 Children: Stephan (Julie) DeCook, Brian (Miranda) DeCook), Carrie (Scott Bishop)DeCook, James (Lora) DeCook, and Jeffrey (Melissa) DeCook; Grandchildren: Ashley Scharff, Tyler DeCook, Morgan DeCook, Ava DeCook, Nathan DeCook, Chloe DeCook, Davis DeCook, Sophia DeCook, Lawson DeCook, Elyse DeCook, Lainey DeCook, Maggie Bishop, and Sophie Bishop; her Mother: Walda Engelmann; Mother-in-law: Theola DeCook; and Siblings: Marc Engelmann, Barry (Joyce) Engelmann, Mary Beth (Larry) Anderson, and Tom Engelmann.

She was preceded in death by her Father: Robert Engelmann; and Father-in-law: Vincent DeCook
