Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Fairmount Cemetery. Elaine was born on May 30, 1931, in Duluth, MN, to Leo and Wallace (LaValle) Rowan. Elaine’s journey with The Salvation Army was a lifelong endeavor. As a teen, she felt a calling to be of service to others by becoming an officer of the Salvation Army. In 1955, she entered the School for Officer Training. She spent the next 41 years giving of herself in-services throughout the Midwest until her retirement on May 30, 1996.
Elaine was a strong, sharp witted woman that was a friend to all. She loved her 3 dogs, Mopsy, Dusty, and Abbey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her niece, Karen; great-nephew, Jeff; several extended family members; dear friend, Ann Lucas; along with numerous friends and salvationists.
